This is my Senior Year of High School, the last year of my young-adult life until the ties of society pull me feverishly to do their bidding. This is the last part of my journey that will be filled with turmoil and stress and laughter and tears. I'm ready to walk this journey, and I'm excited to where this will lead.

Post-School: Getting Ready
The past two weeks that have been leading up to school starting I got my school supplies, clothes, shoes, makeup, and books. I spent over $40 getting my hair done and over $160 on my clothes. Get reading for school is a lot of money! I used up almost an entire paycheck on all my stuff and I still need to go get some more things. Problem is, most places don't really have my style. You know, every day of last year I wore a black shirt. Yes, I love wearing black, but it's the only color that's in my closet and those are the only shirts that I've had for the past two years. Kinda bad, I know, but now that I've got a steady flow of money coming in that should change.
Also, I believe I'll be one of the ONLY Seniors that won't have their license or a car. Kind of pathetic, right? I should have gotten my license on July 19, but my mom decided not to. So much for something new, right?
Then I've got to talk to my counselor about changing my schedule again. I mean, I love all the classes that I have, but most of them are useless, especially when I need only TWO credits to graduate. Yes, TWO. I kind of hoped for a half day of school this year, but it doesn't look like my school district is going to be doing that this year.
And one of the things that I'll have to focus on a lot are scholarships. Yes, I'm gonna be needing A LOT of those. Like many, I don't come from a very well off family, every pay check that my dad gets is taken away from bills and my mom doesn't qualify for certain insurances because of what my dad makes as a truck driver, but they don't understand how much money is taken away when we have to pay our bills and my dad has to pay child support to his other daughters. And it doesn't help that my father doesn't pay child support to help provide for me anymore. Sorry, rambling about economic matters!
Anyway, I have one week until school starts, until I have to start waking up at six o'clock in the morning just to make it to the bus on time, until I get to see my friends again, until I am finished on the very last day of school. I'm surprised at how fast this year has come, but I guess that's how a lot of people feel their senior year. I'm excited!
GO WILDCATS!

First Post
My name is Trina Roller. I am the youngest of my full blooded siblings and the middle child of all my siblings (four sisters and a baby brother). My favorite color is purple, my religion is Pagan, and I am seventeen years old. My hobbies include singing, reading, and writing. My dream career would be to go on Broadway and sing, but my fall-to career would be a high school English teacher who writes books in her spare time. I attend Fruita Monument High School in Fruita, Colorado. And this is my Senior Year.
I created this blog to take account of every day of my Senior Year, all the stress and pain and laughter and tears. I don't want to leave out any detail, I don't want to forget this year, and I want to share this with everyone and to prove that Senior Year can be unforgettable or regrettable.
In truth, I don't know how this year is going to go, but I imagine that it'll be really stressful and totally worth it. I guess all that's left to say is let the journey begin and may the odds be ever in our favor.
